Crap

Due to the comment from Dallas (thank you dallas. woohoo i have a reader!!!), here is my most recent ramble on RSL. This was started 22 Sep 2005 just after our first game at Invesco Field against the cRapids.

Have you ever listened to a soccer game over the radio? It's an interesting experience. You spend half your time trying to imagine what is being described, and the other half wondering why you've been staring at the same spot for the last half hour.

Such was the case for me last night when RSL puffed out every ounce of hope for the playoffs by dropping their eight straight game in Denver. The mlsnet video feed was crossed with some Rockies baseball game and I wasn't going to stay up until 10:30 only to drag myself back up to campus to watch the tape delayed version. Not with class at 7:30 the next morning. Okay, well maybe if something cool happened.

Hence, at 10:30 I was crawling into bed with nary a thought on soccer - which is rare.

Now that I've had a chance to digest the implications of the loss and the season as a whole, I'm actually looking forward to next season. That may sound cliche-ish and like dumb blind fan optimism, but what do you suggest? There is so much to be happy about this season. Major League Soccer is in Salt Lake, we saw an amazing World Cup Qualifier, and history was made with King Kreis' 100th tally.

Sure record wise the team sucked. Sure, we had some veteran players who didn't live up to their reputation. But, to be honest the season wasn't that bad. At least we're not Chivas.
